Windows in Bathroom and Stairwell

Question

I have three arched windows in the bathroom area. These windows are facing south which lets in alot of evening sun and heat. The challenge is one is in the shower itself, one over the tub and the third in the closet. I need something that I can open in the morning and winter and close in the summer and evening. It should be water and mold resistance if possible.

I also have a square window in the stairwell about 20ft high. It is also facing south. I would like to be able to cover it in the summer evenings and open it in the winter.

Answer

The best window treatment for windows in places like bathrooms and other wet areas is faux wood. You can do either faux wood blinds or if you want to cover the arched part you can have faux wood shutters.

The 20 foot window in your stairwell is much too tall to cover with one window treatment, however you can use 3 or 4 window shades and mount them on the two sides of the window one above the other. Also use shades that are remote control that you should be able to open without having to go upstairs.
