Eyebrow Window with Sunburst Kit

by Deanne
(Harbeson, DE)

Question:

Sponsored Links

I purchased your sunburst kit and have now covered two of my 1/2 arch windows successfully and beautifully, thank you!

Now I am trying to cover my Eyebrow window. It is 88" long and the two "legs" are 17" high. Do I put the clear rods on the "legs" too or just the arch? This window is stumping me!!

Thanks for the help!

Answer:

Hi Deanne,

I'm glad to hear how beautiful your half arch windows are covered and I am happy to assist you with covering your eyebrow window as well.

You should put the clear rods on both the eyebrow part and the legs on the side. Although the legs are not rounded they should still be included in the sunburst effect.

To accomplish that, you need to connect the clear rods to a length of 122 inches (88" + 17" +17"). Use the splices included to achieve the desired length.

Follow the instructions in cutting out the fabric using 122 inches as the finished width. The finished length of the fabric should be the measurement of the center part of the eyebrow (which is the longest length).

When installing the clear rod needs to be bent at the place where the eyebrow and the leg meets.

Good luck with your project!

We'd love to see photos of your work, you can brag about it here!

Arched Window Treatments and Curtain Rods

by Greg
(Wakefield, NH)

Question

I have an arched window, it is 35.5 inches vertical at the center point of the window and 65 inches horizontal. The curve of the arched window measures 102 inches.

I am in search of a flexible curtain rod that would measure 102 inches in length and then a rigid curtain rod for the horizontal length of 65 inches.

Also I am in the market to purchase a window treatment for this same window, more for the summer to eliminate the sun's heat from coming through the window.

Answer

Our sunburst window treatment kit comes in two sizes 92 inch and 46 inch. If you have a different size you would either cut the flexible rod or connect two rods with the special hardware that comes with it (or both).

For a 102 inch window I would recommend a 92 inch kit and a 46 inch kit.

The flexible rod only bends as you bend it. When it is not bent it will stay rigid like a regular rod.

Although a horizontal rod is not necessary at all when making a sunburst window treatment, if you would like to purchase additional rodding for the horizontal part you can simpler purchase two of the 92 inch kits and you are covered.

Other solutions for arch windows can be on our arch window treatment page.

Sunburst Window Treatment
for Angle-top Windows
(trapezoid shape)

by Gina Paielli
(San Jose, CA)

Question

I would like to know if it is possible to create a sunburst style window covering for my two trapezoidal windows in my living room.

I do not have a picture, but can describe them. They have only one set of parallel sides (the vertical). The left sides are shorter than the right. The bottom of the windows go straight across, and the tops are angled.

You showed many other shapes, but not this one.

Please advise.

Also, if I were to provide measurements, could you make these for me?

Thanks for your help.

Answer

Yes, you can definitely make it in trapezoid shape just like you can make it in any other shape. It would be very similar to this triangle sunburst window treatment even though it has the two parallel sides coming down.

You can put the rosette in the corner like the right triangle. You will only need to measure only the angled side plus the shorter height to get the correct measurement to order.

Other ideas for the trapezoid window treatments can be found here but the sunburst kit is most likely the most economical one.

Circle Window

Question: I was looking at the sunburst treatment kit. I do not think the two sizes offered will work. My window is 180" around or if I measure straight across it is 57". I already have a sunburst treatment on the window but I am wanting to change the fabric.
Any advice.

Answer: The sunburst kit is made to accomodate any size. There is special hardware included to connect more than one kit to fit a larger window and you can cut it to fit a smaller one. In your case you will need to purchase 2 92" kits to fit the 180" circumference.

Please note our kit includes the hardware and instructions but not the fabric which has to be purchased separately.

Sunburst Window Treatment Kit

question

How do I measure For the sunburst window treatment kit? I'm not sure I understand this for the window kit. I have an arched window and it measures 33" at the highest point and is 69" long. If I did this right do I get one kit or 2 kits?

Answer

You need to measure the circumference which is the rounded part of the window. This is where the rod will go.
