Hi there. I sew custom treatments. I have a client who wants balloon pleated shades on two windows. Then the other two she wants something different - they are on either side of a fireplace.

The fabric is very think damask - old world feeling. The balloons are going to be big and full. 68" wide. The other windows are about 50".

Any suggestions? we were going to do simple cornice boxes but she wants something more "special". Not sure what to do so the whole room flows. thanks!

Answer

You can put a balloon insert across the width of the cornice box. This will keep the theme of the balloon valance without overpowering the smaller windows.
