Sidelight curtains are a quick and easy way to cover your sidelights. Just put one rod on top and one on the bottom and your all set to hang up your curtains.
Finding the right rod is not easy at all. Here are some issues you might encounter:
Size: Most curtain rods start at 28" which is great when you have an average window. But if your sidelights are ten, eight, or even six inches, this is definitely not what you need.
Mounting: Many sidelight windows have no mounting depth, so outside mount might be the way for you to go. Outside mount will also work if your rods are are just a bit wider than your windows.

When using sheers or laces curtain, rods can be unsightly. Use these clear rods and you will not see them at all. this clear plastic is very durable and will not become yellow or brittle.

Need sidelight rods that install without screws? Renters and the not-so-handy use spring tension rods for screwless shade installation. But such small spring tension rods are so hard to find.

Sidelight curtains (or French door curtains) that can be removed easily, that's what you have with swivel end sash rods. Whenever you want to remove the curtains, just unhook one side and slide off the curtains and hook it back easily.
