Side Lights

by Brenda
(Aberdeen, MD)

Question I have two sidelights on either side of my entry way door. I am look for some type of covering. I especially like the cellular shade option featured on your site, but I would like to know how to measure before placing the order.

Answer The sidelight shades can be mounted either inside within the window frame or outside in front of the frame.

Inside mount - you measure the height and the width within the window frame. You order it in the exact size and we will make adjustments so that it should open and close smoothly. This option is only possible if the depth of your window frame is at least 3/4".

Outside mount - the shades will mount in front of the window frame, therefore they should be wider than the opening.

Measure the height and the width of the sidelight and add at least 1" to each side totalling to an addition of 2" to the height and 2" to the width of the window. If you prefer you can add more to the height or width. We will make the shade the exact size you specify.
