Scarf for Sliding Glass Doors

Question

I have had vertical blinds only on these doors for over 10 years and want an up do. These doors cover almost a whole wall in my living room. There are two sets of 8' doors with about one foot of 'wall' separating them and 2' of wall on each side.

I recently hung sheers up on each end of the stretch of glass. To do this, i attached cafe rods to the shelf board (6" x 1/2") as shown in the picture to be able to clear the existing verticals.

It looks really nice but the center of the stretch is screaming for something! The distance between panels is just shy of 9'.

As a rule, we use the door right of center to go out to our deck but want to keep the option open to use the left of center door in the future. I'm thinking a scarf treatment would be a good solution but not sure how to hang a rod with the existing set up.

Thanks so much for considering and sharing a solution!

Answer

Instead of the cafe rod put a double rod which has two rods one in front of the other. With this you will be able to put the sheer curtians on the back rod and the scarf on the front rod.
