Painting around or into deep windows

by Darlene
(Holland, MA)

Question

I have walls that are almost a foot deep giving me 8" deep window openings. The sills are wood. I am painting the room (pink - a girl's room) and not sure if I should paint the wall color into the window area. I'll be mounting the valance and panels (green with pink accent) outside the window area. I'm not sure if painting the window area pink will look funny... help! :-) Thank you!!

Answer

Do you have other moldings in the room?

The window sills should be the same color as the moldings (no matter which color they are).

After your window treatment in the girl's room is done, you can brag about them at our unique window treatments page!
