Question

I have an octagon window in my bedroom next to my bed. My husband sleeps during the day and we are trying to find a economical covering for this window. This window is your average octagon window. My bedroom is painted a dark brown and I need something to block out the light.

The most ideal fabric used for this solution is sheer fabric. It looks airy and pretty, however it will usually just reduce the glare and provide some daytime privacy.

If you need more privacy or light control you would need to use a more light blocking or blackout fabric. (Make sure it is not too stiff or heavy since that would be a problem when making the sunburst which needs a light and pliable fabric.)
