Bay Window with Slider

Question

I have a bay window eat in kitchen area with a slider in the middle. I'm thinking I might want to do curtains on each window with a valence above the slider? My current window treatment uses two rods.

Answer

You can either make the curtains on one bendable track and stack at the far edges and framing all the windows together.

Or they can be covered individually and frame the single windows and the slider separately. This way you will have the curtains stacking at each end and at the corners. However you will have be careful when you close the slider that the curtains shouldn't get caught in the slider.

If you want to freshen up the valance you can still use the rods from the valance and you will only need to update the fabric and/or style.

ROD POCKET IDEAS
by: Anonymous

Thanks for the info - I'm thinking I will keep the rod. I can probably just use the top rod as long as the valance covers the bottom rod's hardware. I would like to have something not as "shirred". Is it possible to make something like a box pleat with a rod pocket?

Box pleat valance

Definitely, you can have a rod pocket above the box pleat valance or any other valance. Installing on a rod is much simpler than on a wood frame.
