Awkward window layout- Need help with drapery location

Great Room Windows

Great Room Windows

Question

I have an awkward situation with the windows in my great room. As you will see in the picture I have a set of windows and sliding glass doors next to each other. I am looking to do silk drapes and place them at the highest point, which is above the two windows.

Here is my problem, location of the drapes; one at the far left of the window and then one at the far right next to the sliding glass door. Or should I frame the windows and sliding glass doors separately?

I have had this dilemma for the last 4 years and I am desperate need of some help!

Thank you in advance for your time.

Answer

If you should frame the windows and sliding door separately or together is a personal taste. Framing them with draperies together will definitely look grander.

You can do a ceiling mount and put the draperies wall to wall not just taking in the windows and door but also the area outside it (if there is any space there) to take in the complete wall.
