Arched Window Treatments and Curtain Rods

by Greg
(Wakefield, NH)

Question

I have an arched window, it is 35.5 inches vertical at the center point of the window and 65 inches horizontal. The curve of the arched window measures 102 inches.

I am in search of a flexible curtain rod that would measure 102 inches in length and then a rigid curtain rod for the horizontal length of 65 inches.

Also I am in the market to purchase a window treatment for this same window, more for the summer to eliminate the sun's heat from coming through the window.

Answer

Our sunburst window treatment kit comes in two sizes 92 inch and 46 inch. If you have a different size you would either cut the flexible rod or connect two rods with the special hardware that comes with it (or both).

For a 102 inch window I would recommend a 92 inch kit and a 46 inch kit.

The flexible rod only bends as you bend it. When it is not bent it will stay rigid like a regular rod.

Although a horizontal rod is not necessary at all when making a sunburst window treatment, if you would like to purchase additional rodding for the horizontal part you can simpler purchase two of the 92 inch kits and you are covered.

Other solutions for arch windows can be on our arch window treatment page.
