Bendable Curtain Rod for an Arched Window

Arched Window

Arched Window

Question

Hi,

I see on your site that you sell bendable curtain rods for arched windows, but I'm not sure how to measure to get the right size.

The width at the base of the window is about 91 inches. The height at the highest point of the arch (the very middle of the window) is 22 inches high.

Do you sell a bendable curtain rod that would fit an arched window this large?

Thanks so much.

Vicki Van Horne

Answer

The correct way to measure is by measuring the rounded part of the window only. This is the place where the bendable rod is fitted into.

Our bendable rods come in 46" rods (the smaller kit has one rod and the larger kit has two rods) which are connected with a splice (which is included in the kit). You can connect as many rod as needed. And you can also cut it as needed.

Here you can order the sunburst kit.

Enjoy your project and good luck!

Arched Window Rod

I am looking to put heavy lined draped on an arched window and the window is not small. The arched window kit that you have, is it able to hold the weight? And also will it separate the drape at the top?

I can put rod rings on the drape or I can put in grommets but just can't see on the picture how it would hold the drape rather than it all fall to the right or left of the rod.

Thanks so much

Answer

Hi Marine

Our arched rod kit is for light to medium weight fabrics (I would not recommend it for heavy lined fabrics).

It does not use rings or grommets to hold the fabric. Instead the rod together with the fabric is attached to the arched window by pressing them into the clips supplied with the kit. These clips are what keeps the curtain in place and keeps it back from slipping toward either side of the arch.

You can see how it looks on the photo on the arched rod page.

Arched Window Kits Weight Limit

by Amy
(Alabama)

Question

I wanted to know if your arched window kits have a weight limit. I wanted to install thermal curtains for this window, but your rod looked kind of flimsy. Will it hold heavy curtains, or is it only for light to medium weight curtains?

Answer

It's NOT made for heavy fabrics. These rods are originally made for sheers and it can also carry light to medium-weight fabric.

Large Arch Window

by Sherry Wintermyer
(Bluffton, SC)

Question
I have a large arch window that is above a double window and would like to cover both the arch and window with the draperies hanging from the arch without a sunburst effect on the arch and separate curtains on the windows. Is is possible to purchase hardware that I could hang the curtains from the top of the arch?

Answer
Flexible curtain rods can also be used to make arch curtains that hang down over the windows.

Here you can purchase Curved curtain rods special for arch window curtains.

Arched curtain rod
by: Emily

I am trying to find an arched curtain rod that will go above my arched window. The arched window is in a bedroom and is above another large window. I already have the curtains to hang there, and I just need the arched curtain rod. It needs to be about 77 inches in length. The curtains are light weight and they will slip through the rod so the rod is essentially unseen. I'd like some decorative ends to the rod and if I need to add that myself, that's fine. The curtains aren't the kind to hang on rings. Can you help?
