Angled Window
angled window
QuestionWe purchased a mid century modern home that has these angled windows that face East. If they were facing a different direction then we would leave them free of window treatments but throughout the year the sun shines right in the windows which makes it uncomfortable to be in the open living space. We have considered roller shades but are not 100% sure that it is the best decision.
There are pockets of homes in the Phoenix area that all have the same angled windows.
Please let me know what you recommend for our mid-century modern home. See attached photo. (by the way the wall with the square openings we ripped down).
AnswerIt is difficult to tell from the photo if the angle is on top or bottom or both. However the right place to start looking for a solution is at our
trapezoid window treatment page. Where you will find a variety of options for angled windows.
If the angle is only on the top you would do best with our
trapezoid window shade that opens to the top. When open you will have a full view but when closed you will have privacy, sun protection, plus insulation. It is available in light filtering or room darkening cellular shade fabric and can be made in many large size.
